My Life Outside of Real Estate

Many people know me as Bobby Sng, the Real Estate Salesperson and Leader. However, not many people know me outside of my career.

Outside of Real Estate, I am someone who tries to be the best that I can be in everything that I do - be it with my family, my loved ones, my friends. My goal is to always have the best experiences and create the most impactful moments I can with the people around me.

For me, a successful career in Real Estate is just one part of a balanced life. I also enjoy spending time with my family and loved ones, staying active and outdoors, and giving back to my community.

I tend to make the most of my life by doing things that make me happy. For me, that includes helping others achieve their Real Estate goals and to grow their careers. My clients and teammates know that they can count on me to be honest, hardworking and professional.

But they also know that I have a life outside of Real Estate, and I'm not afraid to take a break from work to enjoy it. I think that's one of the things that makes me happy, fulfilled and empowered in my business and my life – Real Estate is just one part of who I am, but it also complements my goals well and helps me achieve the best life I can ask for.

In this article, I'm going to do something I don't do much, which is to share some personal photos from my album of my life

This was taken at Batu Caves at KL, when we were on a family trip sometime last month. When we climbed the long staircases leading to Batu Caves and reached the top, we saw there were some Indian monks (who I think were giving blessings). It was also a rare moment so I took the chance to approach the monks and got them to bless me, hence there were some ashes on my forehead.

There were a lot of “first times” here for my family and me. First time our whole family went to KL, first time the kids visited Batu Caves, first time travelling by car for a family of 7 people. My kids also now understand its not easy to travel with such a big group.

Travelling can be quite hectic, especially when everyone has their own agenda and no one wants to miss out on anything. Our trip to KL was no different. We had a lot of fun, but it was also exhausting. I'm glad we did it, though. It was a great experience for our family and I think we all learned a lot. I'm already looking forward to our next trip!

Photo 2 (Melaka)

This was taken in Melaka with my family! We went to a restaurant that looks a lot like HaiDiLao. It has a makan section, a disco, and around the area there were a lot of restaurants, pubs and live bands. It was a challenge for us to bring the whole family out as its really not easy to manage 7 people travelling overseas together.

During the trip, there were moments when my wife and I realized it’s so much easier to travel by ourselves, in a smaller group. But we also do want our kids to be more engaged, to participate with us - especially when both of us are spending a lot of time working hard when we’re back in Singapore.

There’s something special about traveling with your family. Even when it’s not always easy, it’s a chance to bond and create memories that will last a lifetime. This was certainly the case on our Melaka trip, when my wife and I took our kids to explore some of the beautiful and interesting places in Malaysia.

Overall, we loved being able to share the experience with our kids and watching them take everything in. It was a great reminder of why family trips are so important to us.

This was taken on a fishing trip in Maldives where I went with a group of friends. As I am someone who gets tanned very easily, so I always “suit up” myself well! I wear long sleeve, cap, sunglasses and bring my umbrella with UV protection.

Before we left the hotel to go for this trip, I was very proud to bring my umbrella everywhere I go. I was telling everyone to bring their own umbrella because the weather was very hot, but everyone just said it was crazy to bring umbrella to Maldives 😂

The funny part was when we were on the boat, it started to get even more hot and then everyone started asking “Bobby, can share the umbrella?”

As you can see from the photo, even when I was fishing, my full “gear” will always be in my hand!

Photo 4 (The Mona Lisa)

This was taken on a family trip we did in Europe. This is my first time “visiting” the famous Mona Lisa in the Louvre, in Paris.

How I felt back then when taking this photo, was that I didn’t understand why people were so obsessed about this. Because people were crowding around, with about 7-8 people squeezing in front of me, “fighting” to get a better spot to take photo. The whole situation in the space that houses the Mona Lisa was very messy. There were probably about 60+ people in the area. Plus, I clearly remember I was suffering from jet lag here.

So you can imagine that this shot of me being “quite near” to the real painting was not easy for me to squeeze in!

My family was downstairs waiting for me while I came up here to visit the Mona Lisa.

Photo 5 (Eiffel Tower)

This was taken on the same family trip in Europe, and it’s me with my daughter under the Eiffel Tower. As most people will take a photo by standing in front with the Eiffel Tower behind them, I was looking for ways on how to take more “interesting” photos with the famous landmark.

I'm always looking for unique ways to experience the world around me. So, when I found myself in Paris standing beneath the Eiffel Tower, I knew I had to find a different way to see it. Instead of just taking a photo from ground level, I decided to put my phone on the table and take a picture upwards.

It's a simple act, but it gave me a completely different perspective of the city's most famous icon. And that's what I love about thinking outside the box – it allows you to see the world in a whole new way. Whether it's in work or in life, I'm always looking for new and interesting ways to stand out from the crowd. And this photo is just one example of I do things!

A Sneak Peek Into My Life

I'm grateful for my 20+ years career in Real Estate, and that’s what most of my friends and connections know me for. I also want you to know it's not the only thing that defines me.

Outside of my career, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, exploring new places, and pursuing new experiences. And I like to document these moments with photos and videos for our own memories and be great assets for our children in the future to laugh and joke about! 😂

I'm always on the lookout for new and interesting article topics, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy reading this style of article. I find them to be a great way to learn about new topics and to get insights from different points of view.
