How To Remove Mindblocks So You Can Grow Your Real Estate Career

The Real Estate industry is competitive - that's a fact. With so many agents achieving awards and looking so accomplished, it can be easy for an agent to feel like they're not good enough... especially if they are new to the business.

Self Worth & Value

However, it's important to remember that your self worth and value are not determined by your prominence in the industry. The reason I say this is because I notice a lot of agents discounting themselves in their self worth, especially if they compare themselves to other more "successful" agents.

You are just as valuable as anyone else, no matter how successful they may be. The most important thing is that you believe in yourself and your ability to provide a great service to your clients. When you have confidence in yourself, you will be able to succeed, regardless of what others may think.

This is something I'm strongly advocating for.

A Real Estate agent's past experience does not necessarily mean that they will be the same in the future. While an agent may not have closed a lot of deals in the past, this does not mean that they will continue to do so in the future.

In reality, the skills and experience required to be a successful Real Estate agent are constantly changing. What worked five years ago may not work today, and what works today may not work tomorrow. The most successful agents are those who are able to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the industry. They are always learning new things and testing out new strategies. They know that the only way to ensure success is to never stop trying to improve.

Ultimately, a real estate agent's past experience is not a guarantee of future success or failure.

Recent Experiences

Earlier in July, I conducted a Millionaire Mindset Program in #BSA and it garnered a lot of interest from #BSA members.

A memorable incident was someone came to ask me if its a "rah rah" type of program and shared her considerations - because she's attended an event like that before, she didn't enjoy the experience, and she doesn't want to join another program like that. In my opinion, I knew her "mindblock" happened before she even registered for the event, as she was already starting to doubt the event, and doubt herself. I advised her not to attend, as I could tell from her questions that her mind was already closed up.

She was taken aback by my answer and was trying to justify herself on why she asked the way she did. I listened and understood her considerations and I reassured her that the #BSA Millionaire Mindset Program was not the "rah rah" sort. In the end she attended the Millionaire Mindset Program, because she knew she had to attend if she wanted to advance in her career. She learned so much about how to grow her business and make more money, and also changed her mindset about money and business.

Here are some takeaways and testimonials that the participants got: https://youtu.be/Gsx5tQBCxyM

That's why I wanted to write this article to share some tips to everyone who's looking to clear their own mindblock. There's nothing worse than feeling stuck in a rut, both personally and professionally. When we feel like we're not moving forward, it can be frustrating and discouraging. But the good news is that there are things we can do to get unstuck and start making progress again.

Step #1. Understanding Mindblocks

What is mindblock?

Mindblock is the feeling of being stuck, overwhelmed, or paralyzed by our mind. It can show up as procrastination, self-doubt, indecision, or many other emotions. Mindblocks are a normal part of life, but they can be especially common in a journey of the Real Estate career. Mindblocks can be frustrating, preventing you from moving forward in your career. The first thing you must also do to do this is to re-understand the purpose of your mindblock. Rather than seeing it as a negative force, try to view it as a sign that you're on the right track, and how you can reframe the thoughts in your mind?

Here's an example of a story I recalled. I was speaking to an agent and he said "I think my cousin won't buy property from me". My response was "Why do you think he won't buy from you? Why not think that your cousin or any customer is blessed that you are serving them because they won't be cheated by you?" It was like a light bulb went off in his head. His expression changed. Next I asked him, "But are you ready to prepare yourself with all the correct information and provide the best value before you talk to him?" That cleared his mindblock and changed his attitude towards advising people he's close to about Real Estate.

Once you've reframed your mindblock in this way, it will be easier to take action and move past it.

Step #2. Believe Blindly

A mindblock is a belief that you cannot do something. It can be based on a past experience or a fear of the future. A mindblock can prevent you from taking action in your career or achieving your goals. The first step to clearing a mindblock is to believe blindly that you can do it.

This may seem counterintuitive, but it is essential to override your negative beliefs with positive ones. Once you have taken this step, you will be able to take action and move forward in your career. If you find yourself doubting your ability to succeed, remember that everyone has times when they feel like they cannot do something. The important thing is to push through those feelings and take action anyway. It's the first step to getting unstuck and moving forward with your career. You may be surprised at what you are capable of achieving.

Step #3. Accept That You Need To Be Pushed

Next, it's important to accept that you must be pushed in order to grow. The key is to push through and keep moving forward. This means that you need to seek out new challenges and opportunities, even if they make you uncomfortable. You need to be willing to experiment.

Trying new things is the only way to find out what works for you. And finally, you need to let go of perfectionism. Mindblocks often occur when we get fixated on doing things perfectly. Remember that progress, not perfection, is the goal.

If you can allow yourself to be pushed by your mentor or teammate by asking them for help, you can open yourself up to new possibilities and ideas and continue moving forward in your career. Sometimes, the best way to break out of a mindblock is to force yourself out of your comfort zone.

Step #4. Learn Beyond what You Know

A good way to clear mindblock is to learn beyond what you already know. Keeping your mind open to new information and ideas will help you find new solutions to problems.

There are many ways to do this, such as attending workshops and seminars, reading industry-related books and articles, or simply talking to people who are more experienced than you. The key is to make learning a habit so that you can easily adapt to new situations and keep up with the latest trends in your field. By constantly expanding your knowledge, you'll be able to overcome mindblocks and take your career to the next level.

Finally, remember that mindblock is often simply a matter of perspective. If you feel stuck, try looking at your situation from a different angle. With a fresh perspective, you may be able to see a way forward that you hadn’t considered before.

With these 4 steps in mind, you will have a greater and more educated chance to overcome any mindblock that comes your way. Clearing mindblocks isn't always easy, but it's worth it.

When you're able to push through your mindblocks, you open up a world of possibilities in your Real Estate career, and even your life! No longer limited by your own self-doubt, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Mindblocks are like mental hurdles that we put in our own way. They trip us up and prevent us from reaching our full potential. But when we learn to recognize and overcome them, we unlock our true power. Everyone experiences mindblocks at some point in their lives. The key is to identify them and then take action to move past them.

So don't let your mindblocks hold you back – embrace them and use them as motivation to reach your goals.
